In Development: Conservation Status Survey and Action Plan for North American Bison
During the next year, members of the BSG will be
collaborating to draft a status report and conservation action plan for North
American bison. The document will serve as a benchmark against which to evaluate
conservation and recovery into the future and will provide guidelines for
reintroductions and management of public and private herds. The plan will also
provide guidelines for recovery at the level of ecosystems, requiring
partnership approaches with agency land managers, private landowners, and
aboriginal groups. |
